A young Rito girl named Medli looked out over the sea from the crest of Dragon Roost Island. She could see that there was a storm brewing on the horizon. She headed inside, and prayed to the goddesses. On another island far, far away, an adventurous Korok named Makar also saw the gathering storm. He headed inside to be protected from the midnight clouds. A king sequestered beneath the waves that blanketed the world also saw the gathering storm. He knew what must be done to survive the storm. He used his crystal ball to communicate with a boat, that he could command and speak through. He also looked in on a small boy, who would be turning eleven. This boy may be the last hope of everyone…
~Outset Island~
“ ‘Hoy!” a little girl said. “Big brother! BIG BROTHER!” The girl’s name was Aryll. Her brother was named Link. And he remained, resolutely, asleep. “BIG BROTHER! It’s your birthday!” Aryll exclaimed. At that, Link woke up, and he looked around groggily. He turned until he saw Aryll. At that, his eyes opened wide, and he became wide awake. He and Aryll went to their home. Once there, Grandma gave Link his birthday present, a green tunic. Link’s face fell and his grandma picked up on it. “Come on Link! It’s your birthday, and it is tradition. You are the same age as the legendary hero, and it is an honor to wear his colors…” Link smiled at that, and imagined himself as the legendary hero. However, Aryll’s voice broke his reverie. “Big brother! Now I can give you my present! It’s my most treasured possession, my telescope!” Link took the telescope from his sister, and went outside to use it. He looked around and his eyes widened in fear when he saw a large bird carrying a blonde haired girl! He watched as a pirate ship shot down the bird, and the girl fell to the fairy woods above his home. He went to Orca, the village swordsman, and received a sword. He used it to go to the woods above his village. He fought these weird monsters with the sword and when they were defeated in a cloud of purple smoke. The girl woke up and fell from the tree where she was dropped. Link ran to her, while a pirate retrieved her. They all left the woods. Outside of the woods, Aryll was waiting for her brother. Just as the trio exited the woods, the giant bird captured Aryll!

The Nightmare of Zelda The Wind Waker: Prologue
Long forgotten legends speak of the heroic Princess Zelda and the sages Saria and Ruto. They speak of how the Hero of Time became corrupted and how they sealed him away. Even though he was sealed away, his evil wind continued to blow and soon the land of Hyrule was covered in darkness. It began to rain and soon Hyrule was forgotten, buried beneath a Great Sea. On a small island it remains the tradition for boys on their eleventh birthday to wear the green tunic of the hero in memory of the great tragedy...

The Nightmare of Zelda
In Zelda’s restless dreams, her nightmares, she can see the moment where everything went wrong. She can see Ganon preparing to attack her as she charges her attack, she sees Link spring into the air with the Master Sword point down. She watches this one event over and over, every single night. She tosses and turns as the Master Sword pierces Ganon’s back, the blade plunging into his heart. She watches in horror as Ganon explodes into nonexistence and the Triforce of Power is revealed. She watches as Link retrieves the Triforce of Power and it gives its power to Link.
Link escorts her from the ruins of Ganon’s castle and into Castle town. He, using his abilities as the hero of time, returns everything to the way it was when he was young. He had made everything right again, or so it seemed. For not all was right. Link possessed 2 pieces of the Triforce, Power and Courage. Link possessed almost limitless power, not at all the way it should be. After a great celebration in his honor, Link proposed to the Princess. After that feast things started going wrong. King Hyrule was found dead and Vaati the Wind Mage was found responsible. Zelda knew in her heart it was Link, but part of her didn’t want to believe it. She was happy being with him and she turned a blind eye as his tunic began turning black and gray. Zelda could no longer deny Link’s evil when some of the sages were found dead. Rauru, the last of the ancient sages; Darunia the sage of fire; Impa, Zelda’s nursemaid and the sage of shadow; and Nabooru the sage of spirit were all found murdered in the sacred realm. If it was Link, he had violated the seal of the temple of time, and would no longer be able to enter. So Zelda and Link went for a walk to Castle town. Zelda surreptitiously lead Link to the temple. Zelda could enter but Link could not.
Zelda and the 2 others who loved Link, the Zora princess Ruto and the Kokiri maiden Saria, forced him into the sacred realm. There Link would be unable to harm anyone. All of Hyrule mourned his loss and swore to remember him as a hero. Zelda would later find out that she was pregnant with Link's daughter. In another, faraway place, a girl was pregnant with a boy sealed by destiny...
In the sacred realm, Link swore vengeance on Hyrule, the Sages, and most of all Princess Zelda.
"Sleep well fair Zelda. You have earned it by defeating the villain. I just hope that in your dreams, and in your waking days, you realize that...the NIGHTMARE has just begun..."
An evil wind began to blow over Hyrule yet again, as the power in the sacred realm began his long, slow escape...

The Nightmare of Zelda: Prologue
In the land of Hyrule, there were sages which insured the safety and security of the land and people. The eldest of these sages created the Temple of Time, the resting place of the Master Sword and the entrance to the sacred realm. When the Hero of Time entered the sealed room, he unleashed a great evil, as well as a great burden. He not only gave Ganondorf the Triforce of Power which he used for evil, the hero also created multiple histories and timelines. This is why there are 2 futures, one with a flooded Hyrule, another with a Hyrule engulfed in darkness.
But there are more histories that stem from the moment he opened the sealed door. In one such alternate universe, the heroic are less so. That is the world of the Nightmare of Zelda. The Hero of Time was a like a fairy tale prince. He loved Princess Zelda very much and would do anything for her. What if, in that dimension, Ganon had tried to attack Zelda before she was sufficiently charged to seal him? What if Link had leapt into the air and pierced Ganon's heart with the Master Sword? What if, after the death of Ganon, Link had taken the Triforce of Power? What if Link, the Hero of Time, had 2 pieces of the Triforce?
Well, let us find out. As the old adage goes, absolute power corrupts absolutely...

The Legends of Zelda
Once upon a time, in the land of Hyrule there lived a wise and beautiful princess named Zelda...
Long ago, the land was engulfed by chaos because Ganon, the Prince of Darkness, had invaded Hyrule to find the Triforce of Wisdom. Princess Zelda split the Triforce of Wisdom into 8 pieces to hide them from Ganon. Shortly thereafter, Ganon kidnapped Princess Zelda. Zelda's nursemaid, Impa, went riding off to find someone with enough courage to rescue the captured Princess and retrieve the pieces of the Triforce. But Impa was soon surrounded by Ganon's minions. Thankfully a young boy in green appeared and chased off the minions. Impa learned the boy's name was Link, and she told him all about Hyrule's troubles. Link swore that he would find the pieces and rescue Zelda. But how could a young boy climb to the top of Death Mountain, where Ganon lived?

Hammer Rant: Cassandra Cain
Here's something original in the world of Batman: Batgirl. Wait, that's not original at all. Isn't that what Barbara Gordon was before she was Oracle? Although that is true, Cassandra Cain is something totally different. All of the Batman Family have one thing in common, they come from broken homes Bruce Wayne's family was murdered in front of him, Dick Grayson's parents died in front of him, Barbara Gordon's parents are divorced. Cassandra Cain comes from that pattern but in an inherently different way. Cassandra Cain is the daughter of assasins David Cain and Lady Shiva. Cassandra is raised to be the perfect assasin, and is therefore unable to communicate. It takes a telepath rewriting her brain for her to utter her first words. But Cassandra is an interesting character. Cassandra first took up the Bat-mantle during the No-Man's Land arc. Cassandra saved Commissioner Gordon, which makes Batman and Oracle trust her. Oracle makes Cassandra her ward and gives her a Bat-suit. Batman learns of Cassandra's past through a video sent to him by David Cain. It shows an 8 year old Cassandra killing a businessman. Cassandra became Batgirl to atone for a murder she herself committed, differentiating her from the rest of the Batman Family. Batman trusts Cassandra highly, as he relies on her much during the War Games arc. Cassandra joined Titan's East to fight Deathstroke. Another thing that differentiates her is that she doesn't follow Batman's code. She will kill to remove crime from the streets. During her stint with Titan's East she attempted to murder Deathstroke. However, Nightwing stopped her by knocking her unconscious. Cassandra then joined the Outsiders, butting heads with Oliver Queen (Green Arrow). After Final Crisis however, Cassandra disappeared, leaving the Batgirl identity to Stephanie Brown.
I rather liked Cassandra as a character because she is inherently very different from any other member of the Batman Family. She is willing to kill criminals, and she used to operate on the other side of the law. As a member of the Batman Family, she is interesting, 3 dimensional and well rounded (although critics of 1 Year Later say she is 2 dimensional). I would love to see her in Nolan's Movieverse as she would fit in nicely.

Hammer Reviews: Batman Retrospective
As a child, Batman was one of my favorite superheroes, after Superman and Captain Marvel. What I always remember about Batman is that he is supposedly the "World's Greatest Detective." However, Batman is never portrayed as the "World's Greatest Detective." 6 men thus far have been Batman; Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale and Kevin Conroy. Adam West, star of the popular 1960's tv serial Batman, gave the show a camp feel with some hints of lampoon. Interestingly, this is one of my favorite Batman interpretations, simply because he is not dark, which is refreshing. Michael Keaton is the "REAL" Batman, as he was the first to portray him in a film. Keaton was Batman in Tim Burton's epic Batman (1989). This film follows the origin of Batman, and his archnemesis the Joker. In this version Joker is the man who killed Bruce's parents and Batman lets the Joker die. The next film is Batman Returns, again directed by Burton. The villains are the Penguin (one of my favorite Batman villains) and Catwoman. This one ends with Christopher Walken (playing a media mogul) and the Penguin dying, and Catwoman gazing defiantly up at the Bat-signal. This is one of the worst Batman films, as it leads Batman towards the dark path he now walks. After some backlash that Batman became too dark, Joel Shumacher took over the franchise with the 2nd best Batman film, Batman Forever. This movie attempts to take Batman back to his brightly colored origins in pop culture. With Jim Carey as the Riddler and Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face, this movie harkens back to the era when comic book villains tryed to defeat Batman with elaborate deathtraps and brightly colored spandex. Interestingly, this film introduces Robin to the film franchise in an astute move by Shumacher. However, the next film, Batman and Robin destroyed the Batman name, and led directly to his new dark theme in Christopher Nolan's films. In one of the spectacular examples of "didn't read the comic" Nolan made Batman Begins, the newest decent Batman film. This one explores his origin story with some mish-mashed elements from Year 1 (a comic arc). Its okay, and introduces 2 "new" villains, the completely misrepresented Scarecrow and the misinterpreted Ras-Al-Ghul. Ras-Al-Ghul "died", and Scarecrow escaped, in a Gotham that has suddenly become completely covered by a fine layer of black paint. The next film, The Dark Knight, killed Batman for me. Again done by Christopher Nolan, this one gets EVEN DARKER, as if that was possible. This time Batman again faces down the supremely unfunny clown prince of crime, The Joker. And apparently Batman has been taking voice acting lessons from Rorschach in Nolan's films. Now to the man who portrayed Batman in the animated series of my youth, Kevin Conroy. Conroy wasn't a "bad" Batman, he was simply an extremely two-dimensional Batman (no pun intended). The show, Batman the Animated Series was only remarkable because of Mark Hamill's stint as The Joker. Hamill was probably the "best" Joker because he was genuinely funny, as the Joker is supposed to be. Both Conroy and Hamill starred in the video game Batman: Arkham Asylum. Batman: Arkham Asylum, while wildly popular, is a fairly bad game. The only thing I enjoyed about the game was Detective Vision. Otherwise it is yet another boring, grayish-brown beat-em-up. The only difference is that you play as "Batman."

Christopher Nolan Reboots Superman?: A Hammer Rant on Batman and Superman
I would hate it if Chris Nolan, the man that killed Batman for me, got his hands on the Man of Steel. Nolan has a terrible habit of making EVERYTHING darker and edgier. Superman is inherently not Dark or Edgy. Superman is the antithesis of Batman, who Nolan made even DARKER. Batman was inititally dark and edgy, but he became more well rounded as time went on, especially with the addition of his sidekicks. Nolan vehemently refuses to admit the existence of Robin or Batgirl or even Batwoman. Nolan wants to keep the initial image of Batman as the permanent image of Batman. Even in Batman's REAL origin story from the comics, he got kinda broody, but only to the same extent as Anakin in Star Wars episode 2. However Nolan's Batman went completely off the Sasuke scale. He broke the chart at around 4 super-emos, well over the Sasuke limit. Now back to Superman. Superman since his inception has always been inherently a force for good, and never became brooding, even after his "death" during comics Dark Ages. Superman is always good in a 1950s utopian way, and always defeats Lex Luthor and whatnot without breaking his rock solid morals, unlike Batman who has taken up beating up people for eating ice cream and carrying a Bat-handgun. If Nolan does end up getting his hands on Superman for a reboot of the series he has to do the following:
1. Nolan must re-present Superman's origin story. If he is doing a proper reboot of the Superman franchise, he is going to open up Superman to a whole new batch of fans, kinda like Abrams did with Star Trek. In order for these people who statistically don't read comic books to comprehend the character of Superman, he needs to have his origin story retold.
2. Superman must fight Lex Luthor. Luthor has ALWAYS been the only legitimate enemy Superman has. True, Superman has other villains like Brainiac and Bizarro, but none of them were particularly a challenge, with the exception of Doomsday. But Luthor, a mere mortal, is consistently a challenge to defeat in the comics due to his genius level intellect.

Hammer Rant: BioWare
Game developer BioWare, which spawned the magnum opus KotOR, and the “epic” Mass Effect is renowned for having wonderful story. However what they have in story will not make up for the awful gameplay and the apparent unoriginality. I will admit that KotOR is the ONLY RPG I’ve ever truly enjoyed, and it is definitely the only RPG I became immersed in. Part of it is due to my being able to choose the stories pace and I could recruit people to my party in any order I wished. Amazingly, none of KotOR is useless grind. Normally RPGs, especially ones like Borderlands and Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 pour on the grind until the player is submerged in it. Apparently BioWare’s recent penchant for adding grind to games is part of some genius scheme to cash in on the MMORPG craze. MMORPGs are ALL samey grind with useless NPCs giving every player the same quest to kill the same enemy and collect upgrades or experience or cash or whatever. BioWare’s recent release, Mass Effect 2, is blighted by grind. BLIGHTED! The game REQUIRES that you go to random planets, scan them from orbit for resources and then send down probes to extract said resources. This MANDATORY part of the game is just about as fun as it sounds: NOT AT ALL. Horribly, it is the only way that you can get the best weapons and armor and even the best ending. Are they kidding? That turned me off Mass Effect 2 entirely. While the story is (occasionally) brilliant enough to get me playing it again, the gameplay makes me want to stop again. The second an enemy even gets a target lock on Shepard (the protagonist of Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2) he goes diving for cover. I know that BioWare tried to be “realistic” by doing this but all trace of realism flies right out of the game the second I defeat said enemy by using my Adept powers to pull them towards one of my squad mates who promptly shoots them in the face.

Hammer Reviews: Dante's Inferno Demo
Dante's Inferno shows a lot of promise. Loosely based off of the epic Dante's Inferno by Dante. In the game demo, Dante is a knight of the 3rd crusade stationed at the fortress city of Acre near Jerusalem. It turns out that Richard, the leader of the crusade, took some people prisoner to bargain with Saladin. This plan is set to the wayside and Dante must guard them. They somehow escape and attack Dante. Later, Dante learns that the love of his life, Beatrice, has been slaughtered. She prayed to God to let the poet Virgil guide Dante through Hell. Dante embarks on a frantic journey through the 9 rings of Hell to find her soul and rescue her. Interestingly, though almost none of this is based off of the epic, most of the enemies you fight are based off of Dante's description. The controls are fluid and intuitive, and the graphics are fan-dabby-babulous, but why shouldn't they be? All games have amazing graphics these days. The thing that grabbed me about Dante's Inferno is that it has a decent story. Other than games like the Silent Hill, Final Fantasy, and the Legend of Zelda, story has been set aside for epic fights. Dante's Inferno is one of 2 recent releases that has an amazing story, the other being Bayonetta. I am actually looking forward to playing the full game after I get it. Dante's Inferno is released 2/9/10. Buy it. The story is worth it.

Hammer Reviews: The Wicked Trilogy
The three Wicked series books, written by author Gregory Maguire, are probably some of the best books written since 1990. The first book, Wicked, has been turned into a Broadway musical, and is supposedly getting a movie version. Wicked reimagines the world of Oz created by L. Frank Baum in the early 20th Century. Instead of focusing on Dorothy and her adventures, it focuses instead on the Witches of Oz, well before the appearance of Dorothy. Wicked starts with the birth of Elphaba Thropp, better known as the Wicked Witch of the West. From there we see her slowly become the "Wicked" witch, but it seems that there is far more to her story. The sequel, Son of a Witch, picks up where the first left off, with the death of Elphaba Thropp. This time we focus on her maybe son, Liir as he goes about doing what he must, and continuing his mother's mission. Son of a Witch ends as the first begins, with the birth of a green skinned girl. 8 years after the end of Son of a Witch, we get the story A Lion Among Men. This one follows the story of the Cowardly Lion, and his part in the aforementioned adventures, as well as developing his own story. Maguire is a literary genius because he created within the course of one novel an emotional attachment from the reader to the characters and the new reimagined Oz. It took 3 Silent Hill games, 4 seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, 3 Star Wars movies just to develop the same relationships in their respective universes. This is why I would consider the Wicked Trilogy to be some of the best modern literature ever written, not only because it refreshed an old and stale series into a new entity, but because it is very easy to develop an emotional attachment to the character. We begin to empathise more with Elphaba (named after L. Frank Baum's initials, a phonetic pronunciation of LFB)than we empathise with Dorothy. I highly recommend any and all of these books to just about anyone and everyone. I'm a guy and I read the first book in less than an hour. It has to be an AMAZINGLY good book for me to finish it that fast. You can never again look at The Wizard of Oz the same way.

The Song of Silent Hill: The Ballad of James and Mary
My wife died,
coupla months ago.
So it is rather odd,
that I should recieve
a letter from one long dead
"James," wrote she, "if you love me,
and I know that you do,
Can you follow me, to that place,
our special place,
that town called Silent Hill?"
And so with letter in hand,
I set out for the town of Silent Hill,
a resort town where we vacationed,
before she was taken ill.
We spent happy hours in that town
the town called Silent Hill.
I stare long at her photograph,
deep into the eyes. I don't smile much,
and I may not be perfect,
but I loved her and she loved me
In that town of Silent Hill.
And when she had a wasting disease,
I would see her in the hospital,
and bright flowers I would bring.
"James," said she,"I don't deserve these,
see how ugly I have become?"
But I brought them just the same
'Cuz I loved her so much
She would confide for hours
in a little girl, Laura was her name.
She told her all about me.
How I rarely smile, but it doesn't matter
because he will come to take us away.
"He may seem course and mean,
but he loves me, and I love him"
She told her in the hospital.
Now I am off to Silent Hill
with letter in hand, and photo in
my pocket. Because I loved Mary,
and I still do. How I long to see her again!

The Song of Silent Hill: Tale of a Writer
My name is Harry Mason,
Have you seen my daughter?
We were in an accident
and it is very important
that I find her soon.
Her name is Cheryl.
Have you seen her?
Hello is there anyone there?
And what of this fog,
this monstrous fog,
that rolls from the
surface of the Lake.
Can anybody see me? Hello?
Is there anybody there?
Have you seen a liffle girl?
She's my daughter. She's 8 years old.
Can somebody please help me?
Does anyone have a flashlight?
What is that figure, enshrouded in mist?
I wish I could see what it is.
Hello! Cheryl!? CHERYL?
Can somebody please help me?
Excuse me Officer, can you help me?
I am looking for my daugher.
Her name is Cheryl. Can you help
me find her, please?
Officer? Hello? Are you listening to me?
You, woman, can you help me?
You HAVE seen my daughter!?
Wait, what do you mean, what do you
need her for?
You are a monster unlike all the others,
how can you kill my daughter?
Who cares about your birthing god? YOU
SACRIFICED MY DAUGHTER!
Wait, Cheryl, is that you?
Oh thank you for returning to me?
A bundle for me? What is it?
A girl, like the one I lost?
What kind of name, Heather I think,
would suit this child well. This town isn't so bad,
I could settle down here and raise her.

Hammer Review: 2010 Trailer Slaughter
Trailer #1: Iron Man 2
This movie may LOOK pretty, but its going to be pretty AWFUL. Like many other films, such as the Dark Knight, they pulled the old actor switcheroo on us, replacing Terrence Howard with Don Cheadle. THAT will work well. They are also using a terrible villain, Whiplash, in a mangled up Armor Wars movie. Instead of ACTUALLY READING the comic that the film is ostensibly based off of, they said "That could be cool." So could a lot of things. Like Antartica.
Trailer #2: Clash of the Titans
I am actually looking forward to seeing this film. A remake of a classic Ray Harryhausen film, this looks like it will actually follow the story of the original. Which isn't hard to do in this case. Starring Sam Worthington, it may just be good enough not to be destroyed by me in the future.
Trailer #3: Prince of Persia
Okay, I admit this one has no official trailer yet, but I have played the games and have big hopes for this film. Just for once I'd like to see a game turned into a GOOD film. Unlike Doom, Max Payne or Super Mario Bros. However, as it is a DISNEY film they probably had to excise everything I enjoyed about the games, turning it into another Pirates of the Carribean-esque money spinner. Let's hope that the writers made a film after playing Sands of Time around 3 times. But they didn't. And they already announced 2 sequels, ostensibly built around the 3 games of the Sands of Time trilogy.
Now to Game Trailers:
BioShock 2:
I'm going to be honest, BioShock is one of my favorite games of all time, just because it had a story that stayed compelling no matter how many times you played it, much like the Silent Hill series of games. From what I've seen of the game, it looks just as good as the first one, although I have the sneaking suspicion that they took from Single-Player mode to make the Online feature better. It looks pretty, and I hope that the game I fell in love with is inside of the armor somewhere. I better get my diving suit ready and go looking.
Mass Effect 2:
The 4th Knights of the Old Republic game released, just kidding. I didn't particularly like it the first one simply because it felt like a ripoff of the Knights of the Old Republic games. This one looks pretty, and has the potential to be something good. But it won't be. Game developers seem to be laboring under the delusion that all we want is explosions and gameplay with no story. Like most games. Like Halo. And Borderlands. And presumably this one. But I'm going to reserve final judgement until after I have played it. I am not looking forwards to this one.

Star Wars The Force Unleashed - Infinities
The events and players are familiar, but something just isn’t right. Welcome to a Star Wars you have never imagined, a Star Wars shattered, a Star Wars where the possibilities are limitless. Welcome to INFINITIES. Follow the adventures of the mysterious Starkiller, Juno Eclipse, Darth Vader, PROXY and a wealth of other characters as you have never seen them before.
A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far, Far Away…
Star Wars
INFINITIES
The Force Unleashed
The galaxy is on the brink
of total darkness. The evil
GALACTIC EMPIRE has overthrown
the Old Republic and now
holds countless worlds in the
grip of fear.
The Jedi Knights have been all
but destroyed. Only a handful
have escaped Imperial forces,
disappearing into hiding across
the galaxy.
The Emperor's spies have
located a lone Jedi Knight
on the Togruta homeworld of
Shili. The Sith Lord DARTH
VADER has been sent to
destroy her....
The mechanized sound of his breathing terrorized the local Togruta as he disembarked his shuttle. Good. It would make his job easier without interference from the locals. All he had to do was kill Jedi Master Shaak Ti, who is taking refuge on this world. She shouldn’t have been foolish enough to come here. He supposed she came here to blend in. She would never blend in. Unbidden memories of his last time on Shili came to him. It was here that his apprentice Galen Marek had been slaughtered by the insidious Sith lord Count Dooku during the waning years of the Clone Wars, when he had been Anakin Skywalker. He strode through ranks of stormtroopers standing at attention. One of them, the commander, came to him to ask what they should do. He ordered them to make a perimeter surrounding the building. “Shaak Ti,” he boomed, “I know you are in there. I feel your presence.” Shaak Ti exited the building with her lightsaber drawn. “Stand down troopers” he said to the stormtroopers, “I will handle her myself.” Vader sent a cascade of lightning at the former council member, causing her to spasm. It was then that Vader prepared to impale her on his lightsaber, a young Togruta girl wrenched his lightsaber from his hand. Vader killed Shaak Ti by snapping her neck, and then turned to face the child. She was around four or five years old with pale orange skin. It was then that Vader sensed in her a strong potential in the force. The stormtroopers circled around, as if debating shooting the girl. Vader gently retrieved his lightsaber from her and then slaughtered his own troops. He would keep this girl a secret and make her his apprentice…
Twelve Years Later
She heard the mechanized sound of her masters breathing approaching as she knelt meditating. She wondered if he was going to attack her again. She heard the sound of his footsteps stop and heard the distinctive hiss of a lightsaber being ignited. She opened her eyes and kneeled before her master. She noticed he was not attacking her with his lightsaber. It appeared that he was…knighting her? “You have done well, my apprentice. Your skill with the dark side is powerful. You are now ready for a true test of your skills. I am sending you to an orbital TIE factory above Nar Shadda. A Jedi, Rahm Kota, has captured it with is personal militia. I need you to kill him. Then you will be strong enough to help me overthrow the Emperor.” ‘Yes, my master,” she replied. Vader continued “I have chosen you a new pilot. Her name is Juno Eclipse. Do try not to kill this one.” She waited for her master to leave before rising. She began to pack her things to help her prepare for her mission. After packing her meager belongings, she went down to the hangar bay. It was on her way to her ship the Rogue Shadow that she was ambushed by none other than General Obi-Wan Kenobi. He was about to impale her when she noticed he had left an opening and impaled him upon her crimson blade. Sparks flew from the wound, and the hologram of Kenobi vanished. “Ah, Mistress. Another excellent duel.” To which she replied “You caught me by surprise PROXY. I haven’t fought that training program in years. I thought you had erased it.” PROXY was her Imperial training droid prototype 10, equipped with the latest in holographic imagers and a wealth of combat techniques from every known Jedi and Sith. “Tell me about the new pilot” she asked PROXY. “Certainly Mistress.” PROXY then assumed the image of a tall blonde human female wearing an Imperial uniform. PROXY then spoke in clipped tones, with an upper class Coruscanti accent “Juno Eclipse, born on Corulag. Rank: Captain. Youngest ever graduate from the Imperial Academy on Corulag. Participated in the Bombing of Callos.” It was here that the real Juno Eclipse entered. She gasped slightly upon seeing herself speaking to this teenage female Togruta. PROXY dissolved the hologram and spoke to his mistress, “She will be impossible to reprogram.”
